IPL 2023 Schedule for 16th Edition
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has finally declared the Indian Premier League IPL 2023 Schedule. The tournament is one of the most loved cricketing leagues in the world. The teams have been formed after the IPL 2023 mini-auction on 23 December 2023 in Lochi. The franchises and management have already commenced the preparation for the matches of league stages that have been announced in the IPL 2023 schedule. IPL will start on 31 March 2023 but the dates for the final match are yet to be announced.
The first match, which shall be the inaugural one for the 16th edition of the league, will be played on 31 March 2023 between the reigning champion Gujarat Titans GT and the four times champions, Chennai Super Kings CSK from 7:30 PM in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, as per the IPL 2023 Schedule. The last match of the league stage will be played on 21 May 2023 between Royal Challengers RCB and Gujarat Titans GT in the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru from 7:30 PM. Format of the 16th Indian Premier League
The format of the Indian Premier League IPL 2023 has been simplified as compared to the last edition. However, it is a little bit different in comparison to the older editions of the tournament when 8 teams used to play in the league. - The IPL 2023 Schedule has been announced by the BCCI. As per the schedule, each team will be playing 14 matches.
- Teams have been divided into two groups of five franchises denoted by A and B.
- The teams will play one match each with the teams that are a part of their group.
- IPL 2023 Schedule has been structured in such a way that the teams will be playing two matches each with the teams of the other or the opposite group.
- This implies that the teams will be playing 4 Matches within their group and 10 outside their group.

Group System in Indian Premier League 2023
As explained earlier that a group system has been introduced in the Indian Premier League in order to reduce the number of matches and balance them with the ten teams that have been playing since the last season. The games will be intergroup and intragroup. The teams of the same group will play one match against each other in the league stages while the teams of opposite groups will be seeing each other twice in the league stages.
