    Information and Facilitation Center

    Delhi Cantonment Board has introduced an electronic system for the public services for which Information and Facilitation Centre has been established in the office of the Delhi Cantonment Board. These centres have been established with the aim of completing public grievances of Delhi Cantonment with speed, efficiency, stability and reliability. The Centre will provide the Samadhan for public grievances, Employee Suvidha, Dak, Revenue & Tax, Cashier and Birth & Death registration.

    Educational Facilities

    Delhi Cantonment Board runs 8 schools including one Public school, 6 Sr. Secondary schools and one School for Physically disabled children. The schools are located in area of the Cantonment to cater to the educational requirements of the civil population of the Cantonment.     Samadhan App as an e-governance initiative under Digital India project was created by Delhi Cantonment Board to strengthen and empower all Cantt. Citizens to report and evaluate the cleanliness of their own Colony/Area. These Apps will also meet out the mandate of Delhi Cantonment Board towards sanitation.

    Public Health Care

    The Cantonment General Hospital is a 100-bedded unit (under extension) at present, providing general medical and primary emergency care services including Laboratory, X-ray and Delivery services. It has a full-time dental clinic and specialists of Orthopedics, Pediatrics, ENT, Anesthetic, Surgery, Obstt. & Gyane, Medicine, Dermatology and Ophthalmology. It has in its premises a Health Post of Delhi Govt which provides Maternal and Child Health Services including Antenatal Care and Immunization Services. It also has the DOTS Centre of Delhi Govt providing treatment of tuberculosis. A Homoeopathy Clinic run by Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) is also functional on daily basis. We also implement all the National Health Programs including Pulse Polio Program, School Health and Tuberculosis Control.

    Fire Brigade

    Fire Brigade is maintained by Delhi Cantt. Board for the purpose of extinguishing fire and protecting lives and property in case of fire and for rescue purposes with any emergency like building collapse, road traffic accidents, human and animal rescue from a well etc. It is also an emergency support function during any disaster. The role of fire services also includes effective fire prevention, creating awareness on fire safety, and enforcing the inbuilt fire protection arrangement for various types of occupancies. This facility is available 24X7.

    Delhi Cantonment Board has guest house named Chitrakoot Guest House. The Guest House is located near Station HQ, Delhi Area, Delhi Cantt. This guest house is primarily meant for official guests of Defence Estate Organization, Army, Air Force, Navy and Elected Members of the Cantonment Boards.

    Delhi Cantonment Board maintains 20 public gardens in the Cantonment Area to provide human enjoyment and re-creation or healthier and greenery environment, amusement for the children. All people need physical activity to maintain fitness and health. Physical activity increases strength, flexibility, and endurance; relieves symptoms of depression and anxiety; improves mood; and enhances psychological well-being. Exposure to nature in parks, gardens, and natural areas can improve psychological and social health. Parks also build healthy communities by creating stable neighborhoods and strengthening community development. Parks are one of the quickest and most effective ways to build a sense of community and improve quality of life. Parks provide places for people to connect and interact in a shared environment. Parks channel positive community participation by getting diverse people to work together toward a shared vision. It offer children the daily benefits of direct experience with nature — the motivation to explore, discover, and learn about their world and to engage in health-promoting, physical activity. Parks offer children a sense of place, self-identity, and belonging as an antidote to social alienation, vandalism, and violence. It helps to engage children in informal, experiential learning through play and shared experiences with peers, laying the foundation for effective formal education and provides a valuable resource for closing the educational achievement gap in communities.

    Presently, the Cantonment Board is maintaining 3,500 street lights points in civil areas, public places & gardens and also installed 195 High Mast lights (16m, 12m, 20m) at important junctions of delhi cantt. area. Delhi Cantonment Board has also engaged M/s Solar Energy Co-operation of India for establishing of roof top solar grid power plant at Cantonment General Hopital and Cantonment Board Office of Capacity 60KWP and 20KWP respectively. After successful implementation of these projects schemes, it will be replicated on other Cantonment Board buildings. Further, Board has approved proposal for conversion of conventional internal lighting with LED lighting installed at CB Office, CG Hospital, Schools and Community Halls etc. The Board has also approved MoU with M/s EESL Ltd. for conversion of 3500 conventional street lighting points with LED lights.

    Water Supply

    The Board receives bulk water supply from Delhi Jal Board for Village Naraina. However, the distribution is done through Board’s infrastructure comprising of Overhead Tank and Underground pumps. For other areas, the Board is supplying water through its own tube wells and infrastructure. The Board is presently maintaining 50 deep tube wells for drinking water, 07 over head tanks, 09 underground reservoirs and 59 pump houses.

    Four water pumping stations are being maintained departmentally and other remaining pumping stations have been outsourced. Total water supply available per day with Board is 12.5 lakh gallons and per capita water supply distribution per day is over 160 liters. In the year 2015 board has installed 10 new tube wells which resulted in increasing of per capita water supply from 125 liter to 160 liter per day. Electro Mechanical Chlorinators have been installed at every pump house. The Board has provisioned three water softening plants at Sadar Bazar for treating water hardness.

    Cantonment Board is maintaining 20 km of public roads widely used by the public. The road connecting Janakpuri to Dhaula Kuan named Station Road, road connecting Ring road to Airport Terminal – 1 named Maude Road, road connecting West Delhi to Dwarka and Airport Terminal – 1 named Sadar Bazar road are one of the few most busiest roads with heavy traffic density maintained by the Board. The Board is spending heavy amount on maintenance and upkeep of these roads. The Board has provided Bus-Q-Shelters, Road signage’s and green strips along all public roads. All public roads have been provided with pedestrian footpaths which are being maintained regularly.
